About The Position

Now Hiring Mechanics in our Burlington, IA plant! This role involves assisting with the installation, launch, and qualification of can-making machines, as well as troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and modifying all mechanical systems. The position requires the use of precision measuring tools and working with close tolerances. Collaboration with management to improve work area, safety, quality, cost, and productivity is also a key aspect of the role. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • A desire to operate and maintain Silgan's industrial can lines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, launch, and qualification of our newest can-making machines.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and modify all mechanical systems.
  • Use precision measuring tools and work with close tolerances up to .0010.
  • Work with management to improve work area, safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
  • Perform and document quality checks and measurements on industrial can lines.
