Mechanic - Utility Trucks and Equipment
About The Position
Custom Truck One Source is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Service Technician to join our team in Fontana. Located near Auto Club Speedway, our facility features 27 bays and 30,000 sq. ft. CTOS operates 40+ locations across the U.S. and Canada, designing, selling, renting, and servicing trucks and heavy equipment for utility, telecom, construction, and rail industries. We power the people who strengthen our nation’s infrastructure. Hiring Mechanic / Technician with experience performing maintenance and repair on truck-mounted utility equipment such as Boom, Bucket, Diggers, Dump, Service, Forestry, Aerial cranes and other truck mounted equipment. Technicians work on diesel, chassis, drive train, suspension, hydraulics, diagnostics, electrical. Software diagnostics such as Bendix, Wabco, Cummins Insite, and Nexiq Diagnostic Link. 7:30am – 4pm, Monday to Friday, Day - shift, with overtime as needed, limited Saturdays. Requirements
- 3 years plus experience with utility truck equipment, diesel, medium or heavy truck, or related equipment.
- Hydraulics, Electrical, Drive Train, Suspension
- Software diagnostics such as Bendix, Wabco, Cummins Insite, and Nexiq Diagnostic Link
- Computer skills and ability to document repair activity.
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Vocational Technical School or Military Wheeled Mechanic or related training
- Must hold a valid driver’s license. (CDL a plus)
- Must have your own tools.
- Physical effort to move objects and tools; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling and a high level of dexterity.
Nice To Haves
- background in hydraulics and electrical is a plus
- CDL a plus
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged / worn parts on a variety of vocational / utility trucks & equipment.
- Provide repair and maintenance to medium / heavy duty trucks, and background in hydraulics and electrical is a plus.
- Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged or worn parts for a variety of manufacturers of utility equipment to ensure quality standards are achieved.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of parts, services and labor to track costs so vehicles can be properly priced and reflect the value of quality offered by the company.
- Submit all work/repair orders as required to a supervisor for approval to ensure budgets are maintained and costs of vehicle repairs accurately reflected.
- Perform all duties in accordance with best practices for a safe work environment.
- Attend monthly safety meetings held by Custom Truck One Source.
- Other duties as assigned.
