About The Position
Up-North Plastics, a leading manufacturer of plastic products, is seeking an Industrial Mechanic at its Cottage Grove, MN location for its day shift. A successful candidate must be mechanically inclined and have some previous experience working on engines/vehicles/machines. The starting pay is $26.00 per hour. Up North Plastics provides in-depth on-the-job training with many opportunities for growth. Additionally, Up North Plastics allows a great deal of overtime and numerous opportunities for advancement.
Requirements
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude
- Experience working with hand/power tools
- The ability to work in a fast paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Some previous experience working on engines/vehicles/machines
Responsibilities
- Observing mechanical devices in operation and listening to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantling machines to gain access to remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, power tools, and safety lock-out devices.
- Inspecting used parts.
- Repairing or replacing defective parts.
- Installing new parts.
