About The Position

Denali is seeking an experienced, dependable, and safety-focused Mechanic to maintain and repair commercial vehicles, mobile equipment, processing machinery, electrical systems, instrumentation, and control equipment throughout the Dardanelle region. This position supports three facilities and performs preventive, corrective, emergency, contracted, and warranty maintenance. Work will be performed both in the maintenance shop and in the field. The Mechanic will diagnose equipment failures, complete mobile repairs, order parts, document completed work, and coordinate maintenance activities with managers, drivers, and equipment operators. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring alertness, sound judgment, and diligence. Employees are responsible for protecting their own safety and the safety of coworkers, drivers, customers, and others.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles, manufacturing equipment, heavy equipment, or industrial machinery.
  • At least two years of experience servicing hydraulic-powered equipment.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control-system failures.
  • Experience working with flow meters, PLCs, VFDs, transmitters, motors, switchgear, and other process-control equipment.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software, scan tools, electrical meters, and testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical documents.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and repair documentation.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel between assigned regional facilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage changing maintenance priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with managers, drivers, operators, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Ability to meet all physical and environmental requirements of the position.
  • FMCSA Annual Inspection certification required or ability to obtain.
  • Air Brake Inspector/Adjustment certification required or ability to obtain.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional manufacturer, welding, electrical, or equipment certifications are preferred.
  • Experience repairing waste, recycling, agricultural, or organic-processing equipment.
  • Experience with diesel engines and commercial truck systems.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Experience maintaining trailers, pumps, conveyors, processing systems, and heavy mobile equipment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, emergency, contracted, and warranty maintenance on vehicles and equipment throughout the assigned region.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation, and control-system failures.
  • Maintain and repair commercial trucks, trailers, mobile equipment, processing equipment, and facility systems.
  • Perform mobile field repairs and shop-based maintenance as required.
  • Inspect and adjust air-brake systems in accordance with FMCSA requirements.
  • Complete or coordinate FMCSA annual vehicle inspections.
  • Troubleshoot engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and related equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and determine whether components should be repaired or replaced.
  • Install, test, and commission new equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and standard safety procedures.
  • Test repaired equipment to confirm safe and reliable operation before returning it to service.
  • Perform general welding, fabrication, cutting, and equipment modifications when qualified and assigned.
  • Identify, repair, and document electrical and instrumentation malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot flow meters, Programmable Logic Controllers, Variable Frequency Drives, transmitters, motors, switchgear, sensors, and other process-control equipment.
  • Use diagnostic software, scan tools, meters, and testing equipment to identify mechanical and electrical failures.
  • Communicate PLC software or equipment-control concerns to Facility Managers and appropriate technical support personnel.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, service manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct routine and predictive equipment inspections to identify developing issues before failure.
  • Recommend updates to the preventive-maintenance program based on inspections, equipment condition, and repair history.
  • Monitor equipment performance and document inspection results.
  • Complete work orders according to established schedules and priorities.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, inspections, parts, labor, and equipment downtime.
  • Schedule services and planned repairs with managers to minimize disruptions to routing and facility operations.
  • Maintain organized maintenance records and ensure required documentation is completed promptly.
  • Identify, source, and order parts required for scheduled and emergency repairs.
  • Work with vendors to locate suitable replacement parts and technical resources.
  • Monitor critical-parts inventory and recommend additional stock based on equipment needs.
  • Confirm that parts and supplies are stored safely and properly organized.
  • Travel between three assigned regional facilities to perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Communicate with drivers and operators to understand equipment symptoms and operational concerns.
  • Provide repair updates, expected completion times, and equipment-status information to management.
  • Adjust priorities as operational needs change or while waiting for parts.
  • Assist facility managers and other departments when regular maintenance work is unavailable.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized shop, service vehicle, and work areas.
  • Support all company policies, safety programs, and operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties necessary to maintain safe, clean, and efficient operations.
