About The Position

This position is an on-call role with no regularly assigned work shifts, requiring work on an as-needed basis. The primary responsibilities include supporting CVRF’s Community Service Center by providing aluminum boat repairs, customization, small engine repair, fabrication projects, soliciting shop space, and handling fishermen bunk rentals. Specific duties involve aluminum boat welding repairs, customizations, and fabrications, interacting with the public for service requests, providing cost estimates, performing repairs, and collecting fees. The role also includes facilitating shop and bunk room rentals, completing and forwarding work orders, and maintaining technical knowledge through workshops and publications. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required
• Previous welding and fabrication experience
• Ability to represent the company in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing
• Acceptable background and reference check results
• Ability to operate shop and welding machinery
• Ability to communicate with others in person and over the phone
• Ability to move about inside an office/shop
• Ability to lift and move in excess of 50 lbs
• Ability to stand; walk, stoop, kneel and crouch
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

Responsibilities

• Aluminum boat welding repairs, customizations and fabrications
• Interacting with the public for requests for service, providing estimated costs, performing repairs and collecting fees for repairs and services
• Facilitate shop and bunk room rentals, including collection of fees and verifying appropriate waivers have been signed
• Complete work orders for services and rentals, forward to the Corporate office, and file on-site
• Maintain technical knowledge, attend educational workshops, and review technical publications
• Other duties as assigned
