About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is seeking a Mechanic/Vehicle Technician to join their team in St. Cloud, MN. This family-owned company, established in 1978, specializes in standard, next-day, ground delivery and has expanded throughout the Midwest. The Mechanic/Vehicle Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing various vehicle systems including gasoline engines, powertrain components, hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems. The role requires the ability to use diagnostic technology, perform routine inspections and maintenance, and work independently or as part of a team. The company offers both full-time and part-time opportunities with flexible scheduling options.

Requirements

  • Must have own tools or ability to obtain own tools to complete all job functions.
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical exam.
  • Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet.
  • Work environment involves ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive.
  • Work environment may involve hazards such as diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other elements associated with vehicle repair.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics is preferred.
  • Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair gasoline engines and other powertrain components, hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems.
  • Use scan tool and laptop technology.
  • Follow reasonable instructions from shift leader.
  • Work independently and/or with team.
  • Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment.
  • Help maintain an effective and clean work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
