About The Position

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Trailer Mechanics at our Lumberton, NC Service Center. As a Trailer Mechanic, your responsibilities will include the diagnostic process, repair work, and overall maintenance of our trailers.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must own your own tools
• Must be dependable
• Must be prepared to work in climate situation when needed

Nice To Haves

• Experience using Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System
• Welding
• Experience driving yard tractor/trailers
• Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles
• Sheet metal and composite panel repair

Responsibilities

• Performing safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company, and any other Federal, State, or Local regulations
• Interpreting technical manuals
• Repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems
• Testing equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations
• Performing trailer PMs and repairs
