About The Position

Taylor is seeking a Mechanic Technician who is an advanced role responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles and machinery. This position requires a high level of expertise and independence in performing complex repairs and providing guidance to junior technicians.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification in automotive or mechanical fields preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive or machinery repair, with a proven track record of advanced diagnostic skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • May require standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy components (up to 70 pounds).
  • Exposure to noise, fumes, and various environmental conditions.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize specialized diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify mechanical issues and malfunctions.
  • Perform intricate repairs on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and other critical components with minimal supervision.
  • Includes preventative maintenance of production equipment and facilities repairs.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
  • Mentor and train junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices and technical skills.
  • Collaborate with operations leadership to identify training gaps and opportunities among the production team.
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with inventory personnel to manage parts procurement, ensuring availability of necessary components for repairs.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment for self and others.
  • Communicate with customers to explain repairs, provide estimates, and offer recommendations for vehicle maintenance.
  • Occasional equipment setup and changeover required.
