About The Position

This position involves the maintenance and repair of automobiles, trucks, heaters, generators, heavy construction equipment and small tools & equipment. Relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on an intermediate number of products in-scope for a technician at this location; primarily engaged in moderately complex maintenance and repair; some exposure to moderate or complex diagnostics, requires limited direct supervision, may provide basic training or guidance to new technicians.

Requirements

  • Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
  • High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
  • Knowledge of small tools, gas and diesel engines.
  • Knowledge and experience with electrical and hydraulics.
  • Knowledge of oil burners/repair.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull 70+ pounds, climb heavy equipment, and bend, kneel and work with arms raised for prolonged periods.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Safety and compliance knowledge.
  • Ability to use hand tools and trades-type tools which require high mental and visual effort.
  • Ability to weld and fabricate.
  • Must meet all requirements to drive a Company vehicle including a valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Flexibility to work various hours and days of the week with the ability to be on call and available for emergency needs.
  • High School diploma (or equivalent).
  • Experience working as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
  • Industry experience or related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Completing preventative maintenance and repairs on tools & equipment on-site with minimal direction.
  • Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Applying the use of specialized tools and following documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.
  • Completing required documentation, such as service worksheets, work orders, timesheets, warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Completing training in line with skill and business requirements.
  • Adhere to all our relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
