About The Position

For more than 76 years, Spice World has been passionate about bringing everyone to a world full of flavor, year-round. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, both an aptitude for PLC controls as well as mechanical skills. You will be required to show a strong knowledge of AC/DC theory, as well as the ability to troubleshoot 3 phase motor control systems and PLC.

Requirements

  • Availability to work five days ten hours shifts from Monday to Fridays and overtime hours as needed.
  • Availability of working on Saturdays and Sundays as per the department schedule.
  • Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching.
  • Requires physical lifting (may require lifting in excess of 50 pounds).
  • Must be able to work in Hot and Cold environments.
  • Must be able to work in noisy areas.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on packing machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Proficient with PLC programming including diagnosing PLC programs and making modifications to the program, if needed.
  • Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Responsible for the setup, operation (initial start-up and operation), and maintaining multiple complexes, high-speed packaging lines, conveying systems.
  • Coordinates with production and maintenance supervision ensuring production lines are properly configured for the desired products and maintains the line to meet production goals and standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring the line functions and operating safely including sanitation, lubrication and any adjustment before start-up and during line operation.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
