Requirements

  • Ability to use required hand and power tools (including welders (MIG & TIG) and torch cutters)
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Mechanical repair and equipment maintenance knowledge
  • Attention to detail when working with diagrams, prints and manuals
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Some post-high school education or training is beneficial
  • Five (5) years of Maintenance Mechanic experience in an industrial setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assigned mechanical job duties to maintain and repair food processing equipment.
  • Completes repairs during the processing season to meet production goals.
  • Overhaul and install plant equipment during non-production periods to be ready for the next scheduled production run.
  • Inspect, repair and maintain machinery, and equipment throughout the facility
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace machinery as required
  • Read sketches and blueprints to determin the layout of assigned work
  • Design, fabricate, weld, and install equipment as required
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and PM completed
  • Monitor equipment operation making any necessary adjustments
  • Complete PO requests to order parts and supplies for the department
  • Assist in training new and junior Mechanics
  • Responsible for general housekeeping of assigned work areas
  • Operate machinery and tools in a safe manner
  • Other duties as assigned or required by Management
