About The Position

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for an experienced Mechanic at our Prince George's County Organics Composting Facility in Upper Marlboro, MD. This position performs installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment used for a variety of environmental projects.

Requirements

• Graduation from a standard high school or possession of GED equivalency certificate.
• Valid driver’s license with less than 5 points.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
• Five (5) years of experience performing installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Formal schooling from an accredited vocational school with a major in related field of study may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to three (3) years of the required experience.
• Commercial Driver’s License with specific endorsements may be required for some sites.
