About The Position

In 1964, it started with one truck and has grown into one of the largest, most successful fully integrated solid waste companies serving the mid-Atlantic area. Our Wetzel County Landfill is a state-of-the-art disposal site that uses the latest environmental protective technology. Our Wetzel County Landfill, located in New Martinsville, WV, is currently searching for a Mechanic’s Assistant/Helper due to growth!

Requirements

At least 18 years of age
A comfort level working in all weather outdoors and ability to work indoors
The ability to work every other Saturday (required) and overtime
A valid driver’s license
Driving both commercial and non-commercial vehicles
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Must be organized and motivated to succeed with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

The ability to drive a manual transmission

Responsibilities

Assist with any general maintenance on heavy equipment/onsite vehicles
Support in fixing any major repairs needed in a timely manner
Perform any general repairs/services on heavy equipment/onsite vehicles
Complete necessary daily shop paperwork
Assist in fixing any major sudden breakdowns in a timely manner to prevent delay in operations
Help onsite of the landfill when needed with driving truck, landscaping, etc.
Special projects and other job duties as assigned.
