Under general supervision, this position will safely and in compliance, service, maintain and repair mechanical oil and gas engines and associated production equipment to support continuous field operations. This role involves performing skilled mechanical work including operating, inspecting, troubleshooting, diagnosing malfunctions, and completing preventative and maintenance repairs on production equipment. The Mechanic Production II will maintain vapor recovery units (VRUs) through routine maintenance, conduct preventative maintenance on gas compressor packages, and inspect gauges and indicators to ensure safe and proper equipment functioning. This position also requires diagnosing failures on oil well service equipment, conducting root cause failure analysis, managing inventory control by ordering parts, and maintaining adequate supplies. Open communication with Production Operators, partnering with employees and contractors, and supporting peak equipment efficiency are key. The role involves preparing and submitting accurate maintenance reports, work orders, expense reports, and time sheets, and making recommendations to the Supervisor to improve equipment lifecycle and production operations.
