The role is an active, approved vacancy within the organization and is intended to be filled as part of current staffing needs. Responsible for preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance of pilot plant equipment supporting formulation, scale-up, and validation activities. This role ensures reliable and efficient operation of equipment while maintaining compliance with GMP and continuous improvement standards.

Requirements

  • Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of pharmaceutical or pilot plant equipment.
  • Strong understanding of GMP and SOP requirements.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of equipment design, maintenance, and optimization.
  • Strong equipment troubleshooting
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems (e.g., Office, SAP, maintenance systems).
  • Understanding of automation and control systems used in pharmaceutical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical support to pilot plant pharmaceutical development and GMP activities to by ensuring a reliable equipment operation.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment used in formulation, processing, and packaging development.
  • Support installation, qualification, and validation of pilot-scale and development equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and ensure timely completion of work orders and documentation.
  • Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, and operation during development and scale-up batches.
  • Work cross-functionally with Development, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to support projects.
  • Identify equipment performance issues and implement corrective and continuous improvement solutions.
  • Support troubleshooting requiring coordination with OEMs and multi-disciplinary teams when needed.
  • Assist in developing and revising SOPs, maintenance procedures, and training documentation.
  • Maintain expertise in pilot plant equipment, including mixers, fillers, tablet presses, and packaging systems.
  • Analyze equipment failures and recommend design or component improvements.
  • Source and identify replacement or alternative components, including obsolete parts.
  • Support operators by providing training on equipment setup and maintenance practices.
