About The Position
The Hydro division, part of the GE Renewable Energy group, is a world leader in providing quality hydroelectric solutions, products, and services. Our Sorel-Tracy plant specializes in the precision machining of large-diameter turbine parts for hydroelectric power plants. We are currently looking for a Maintenance Mechanic. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform various complex tasks on our parts.
Requirements
- Possess a strong ability to work in a team, be versatile, and have initiative.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, inspect, clean, and test various machines (pumps, compressors, generators, machinery, tools, or production equipment, including overhead cranes, slings, hoists);
- Dismantle, replace, align, adjust parts or components to be replaced, adjust them according to specifications using hand or mechanical tools and special equipment, perform necessary and/or prescribed tests;
- For motor vehicles, perform preventive maintenance and routine checks;
- Install and precisely level various equipment;
- Read and interpret plans, work orders, and other instructions;
- Handle parts manually using a hoist, a lifting device, or a pallet truck for their work.
- Use a telescopic boom lift (giraffe) and a lifting platform.
