About The Position
ArcelorMittal Calvert is seeking a Mechanic Maintenance PDM for their Hot Strip Mill. This role will provide mechanical support to meet business goals, focusing on innovative technology and advanced steel creation. The company emphasizes health and safety, holding ISO 45001 certification and achieving a significantly lower Total Recordable Incident Rate than the industry average. They have also reached a milestone of 8 million hours worked without a lost-time incident. The facility is state-of-the-art, with a new steelmaking facility, and is located in Calvert, Alabama.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- At least 5 years of previous Mechanical maintenance experience in the steel industry
- Heavy industrial or mechanical equipment experience
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Schematic/Print Reading
- SAP knowledge in writing thorough notifications.
Nice To Haves
- Accredited vocational or technical program in an industrial setting desired
- Hot Strip Mill experience preferred
- Advanced Knowledge of SAP
- Working knowledge of high-pressure pumps and boiler feed pumps desired
- Experience with PDM activities- Vibration, thermography, pump and motor alignment, UT inspections etc.
- Experience with troubleshooting, inspecting repairing hydraulics and lubrication systems
- Identification of failing equipment
Responsibilities
- Lead and perform maintenance inspections including mechanical, hydraulic, power transmission, lubrication, process pumps, motor alignment, pump alignment, and precision maintenance.
- Responsible for housekeeping and cleanliness of a designated area.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance inspections and services.
- Perform and assist in Lock Out Try Out of equipment, systems, and sub-systems.
- Interface with Production and Quality Team Members to troubleshoot any issues with product quality.
- Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
- Conduct machine setup, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance services, vibration and thermography.
- Make recommendations to Asset on better PM practices.
- Assist in PM creation when inspection expertise is needed.
