About The Position

The School District is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Fleet Mechanic to maintain a diverse inventory of vehicles. This role is critical to ensuring the safety and reliability of our transportation system, primarily focusing on our fleet of Type C and D school buses , heavy-duty trucks, and district support vehicles. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise in diesel engines with the flexibility to handle general automotive repairs for a K-12 public school environment.

Requirements

Minimum of four (4) years of experience in automobile, truck, school bus repair
High School Diploma or equivalent.
technical degree or certification in Diesel Mechanics or Automotive Technology, preferred.
Valid NJ Driver's License
Possess (or be able to obtain) a valid Class B CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
Criminal history background check by the Department of Education
Certificate of good health by school doctor, including State required Mantoux Test
Proof of citizenship or registration
