Mechanic Level B
About The Position
MV Transportation is hiring experienced Mechanics to perform preventative maintenance, diagnose vehicle issues, and service and repair vehicle systems and components, including steering, suspension, brakes, engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical systems, wheelchair lifts, and air conditioning. Mechanics must work safely, analyze damaged parts, and assist with inventory control or other duties as needed. The position offers a set schedule of 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed beyond 40 hours, and career advancement opportunities within a national company.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two to three years of combined apprentice-level verifiable training and experience in automotive or diesel mechanics; this may include high school mechanics courses and/or a regional occupational program.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug testing.
- Must be able to work safely.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, examine, and investigate vehicles to determine causes of defective operation in vehicle systems and components.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on vehicles.
- Perform major and minor repairs on defective components.
- Document all activities in MV’s Fleet Management System.
- Maintain an organized and safe work environment.
- Perform part analysis on damaged parts and assist with inventory control or other duties as necessary.
