About The Position

The Mechanic II is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy construction equipment and diesel-powered vehicles. This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.

Requirements

• At least 5+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Ability to read service manuals
• Must have a current and valid driver’s license
• Must have basic mechanic tools

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on construction equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine service on diesel engines and heavy equipment
• Repair and replace defective parts, components, and systems
• Inspect equipment for safety and operational performance
• Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, steering, and fuel systems
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Operate diagnostic tools and repair equipment
• Respond to field service calls and emergency breakdowns when needed
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety procedures
• Test equipment after repairs to verify proper operation
• Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
