About The Position

This is a remote/ rotational position, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. Job Purpose: Responsible for all aspects of maintenance and the repairing of Emergency Vehicles (fire trucks, ambulances, etc.), as well as other heavy and light equipment, in and out of the shops. In-Vehicle Monitoring System: As part of our commitment to safety and accountability, company vehicles are equipped with in-cab cameras and vehicle monitoring systems. These systems may record video and audio, as well as collect GPS location, vehicle speed, harsh braking, rapid acceleration and other driving behaviors. All data is subject to review by management to ensure compliance with company policies and safe driving practices.

Requirements

Knowledge of diesel theory, hydraulics, electrical and pneumatic systems.
Knowledge of heavy equipment and preventative maintenance.
Knowledge of emergency vehicles (fire trucks, ambulances, and other emergency response equipment) and preventative maintenance.
Knowledge of and experience in lubrication procedures for all types of heavy equipment common to heavy construction and oilfield service industries.
Ability to maintain equipment maintenance records.
Ability to give and receive oral safety warnings, instructions, and task assignments.
Ability to use hand and power tools.
Ability to read and understand schematic, blueprint/drawings, job descriptions, maintenance/safety/technical manuals, and safety/warning signs.
Knowledge and ability to use diagnostic equipment and computers.
Ability to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers and alternate.
Ability to demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.
Ability to demonstrate support for the company’s environmental management system.
Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination.
Standing for prolonged periods of time.
Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather
Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.
Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.
Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.
Minimum of five (5) years of heavy equipment maintenance experience or an associate degree or certification from an accredited diesel/heavy equipment technology program with two (2) years of heavy equipment maintenance experience required.
Valid driver's license and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.

Nice To Haves

Three (3) years’ experience maintaining and repairing emergency vehicles and related systems.
Experience working with remote North Slope operations.
Strong electrical skills.

Responsibilities

Analyze, diagnose, repair, rebuild and provide maintenance of heavy-duty equipment and emergency vehicles such as fire trucks, ambulances and other emergency response equipment.
Dismantles, repairs, and reassembles equipment using hoists, hand tools and pneumatic and electric tools.
Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance.
Work on engines, structural systems, hydraulic and electrical systems, and subassemblies such as transmissions and differentials.
Routinely perform safety and productivity observations: shop, field, vehicle, and equipment.
Perform duties in shop or in field as necessary.
