About The Position

RelaDyne is seeking a skilled and dependable Mechanic II to join their team. This role is crucial for maintaining the safety and efficiency of the company's fleet, which includes diesel trucks, trailers, and fuel trucks. The Mechanic II will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, and supporting the overall maintenance of fleet equipment. While routine repairs can be handled independently, collaboration with senior technicians on more complex diagnostics and repairs is expected. RelaDyne emphasizes innovation, service excellence, and strong customer relationships.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two to four years of experience maintaining and repairing diesel or heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Working knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to diagnose and complete intermediate-level repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to document maintenance activities accurately.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with fuel trucks or petroleum equipment is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, inspections, and fluid services.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, steering, suspension, and hydraulic systems.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify maintenance and safety concerns.
  • Assist with maintenance and repairs of fuel systems and pumps (training provided).
  • Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
  • Work alongside senior mechanics on complex diagnostics and major repairs.
  • Accurately complete work orders, maintenance records, and inspection reports.
  • Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Respond to roadside service calls as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current on equipment and industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support fleet operations.
