MECHANIC I (FULL TIME)
About The Position
Canteen is hiring a full-time Mechanic I in Hanover, Maryland. The role operates and maintains equipment, including HVAC systems, high-pressure boilers, generators, and steam equipment, and reads and records meter and gauge information at specified intervals to verify operating conditions. The mechanic responds to dispatch calls for machine repairs, inspects and diagnoses equipment problems, repairs and tests machines, manages parts and equipment inventory, and provides customer service. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., though it may vary; some nights and weekends are required. The fixed pay rate is $27.25 per hour.
Requirements
- Previous vending repair experience.
- Type I Refrigeration Certification.
- Valid Non-CDL Class C driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, quality customer service.
- Respond to dispatch calls for machine repairs using a company vehicle.
- Contact existing customers to assess service adequacy and resolve service complaints.
- Visually inspect and listen to machines to identify malfunctions, and dismantle machines to access problem areas.
- Inspect parts for wear, misalignment, and other problems; replace defective parts, repair broken parts, realign and adjust components, and test machine operation after repairs.
- Review inventory and order parts; ship and receive machines and equipment; maintain equipment inventory.
- Set up and operate mechanical equipment and small hand tools for machine and equipment repairs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and perform work safely.
- Support the department by striving for excellence and contribute to the team with professionalism toward customers, coworkers, and others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
