MECHANIC I (FULL TIME)
About The Position
The Mechanic I operates and maintains equipment, including HVAC systems, high-pressure boilers, generators, and steam equipment. The role reads and records information from meters and gauges at specified intervals to verify operating conditions. It responds to dispatch calls for machine repairs, provides customer service, and visits existing customers to assess service adequacy and resolve complaints. The mechanic inspects, diagnoses, repairs, and tests machines and equipment; reviews inventory and orders parts; ships and receives equipment; and maintains equipment inventory. The position also uses mechanical equipment and small hand tools for repairs and maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
- Type I Refrigeration Certification.
- Valid non-CDL Class C driver's license.

- Previous tools and plumbing experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, quality customer service.
- Respond to dispatch calls for machine repairs using a company vehicle.
- Visit existing customers to determine service adequacy and listen to and resolve service complaints.
- Visually inspect and listen to machines to identify malfunctions, and dismantle machines to access problem areas.
- Inspect parts for wear, misalignment, and other problems; replace defective parts, repair broken parts, realign and adjust components, and test machine operation after repairs.
- Review inventory and order parts; ship and receive machines and equipment; and maintain equipment inventory.
- Set up and operate mechanical equipment and small hand tools for machine and equipment repair.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and perform work safely.
- Support the department and team while demonstrating professionalism with customers, fellow employees, and others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
