About The Position

This position performs repairs and maintenance on plant facilities, machinery, and equipment, with a focus on mechanical systems, fabrication, and welding. Responsibilities include conducting routine, preventive, and corrective inspections to identify and resolve maintenance issues, minimizing downtime and supporting reliable plant operations. The role requires the use of hand and power tools to test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Lock-out/Tag-out, Forklift, and Sanitation certification are required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.
  • Experience performing maintenance in a manufacturing environment, specifically food processing highly preferred.
  • Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Valid Driver’s License and driving record that meets Lamb Weston Driving Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates proper use of power tools, including drills, impact tools, grinders, tachometers, calipers, Hilti drills, strobe lights, and pipe threaders, as well as all required hand tools per the provided tool list.
  • Maintains proper housekeeping standards to ensure safe and clean conditions in all assigned work areas.
  • Demonstrates and complies with all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) policies and procedures.
  • Identifies potential hazards and follows appropriate safety procedures for each task performed.
  • Possesses basic computer skills, including SAP, email, PDF viewing/editing, and spreadsheet use.
  • Communicates effectively through email and maintains clear, accurate, and timely records in the maintenance logbook.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of welding using MIG and TIG processes.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of electrical systems and safety.
  • Possesses basic mathematical skills required for maintenance tasks.
  • Maintains all responsibilities associated with Level 1 classification.
