About The Position

Performs preventative maintenance and routine mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on company assets to include all light duty vehicles and trailers. Works in both a shop and field environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Basic knowledge of computer use and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Driver License.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel,crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand and climb or balance.
  • Occasionally required to sit and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of CMMS software is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventative maintenance on half ton to one ton equipment according to established guidelines and time frames.
  • Keeps accurate and detailed records of failures and repairs in Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Acts as an assistant to more senior Mechanics on larger jobs.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses routine problems or recurring malfunctions of company assets and chooses course of action.
  • Consults with supervisor to ensure accuracy of diagnosis and approval for work.
  • Completes troubleshooting repairs and/or modifications work on equipment.
  • Performs daily inspections of tools and equipment used.
  • Ensures cleanliness of hand tools, equipment and parts.
