About The Position

This position is located at Water Conserv II at 5100 L.B. McLeod Road, Orlando, FL 32811. It involves mechanical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment equipment and machinery. The role requires the ability to diagnose equipment problems and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner. Responsibilities include completing required Preventive Maintenance on facility equipment per manufacturer recommendations, maintaining spare parts inventory, and ordering needed parts and materials. The position also requires computer skills to review and complete work orders in the Reclaimed Departments Maintenance Management System, research needed parts and supplies via the internet, and write up requisition orders.

Requirements

  • Mechanic Industrial I: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and one (1) year of industrial mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Mechanic Industrial II: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and three (3) years of industrial mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Mechanic Industrial III: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and four (4) years of industrial mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Must own a standard set of mechanic tools.
  • Must have a home phone or cell phone.
  • Annual respirator physical required; no facial hair allowed between the face and the sealing surface of the respirator face piece.
  • Mechanic Industrial III requires Florida Water & Pollution Control Operators Association (FW&PCOA) Level 3 Wastewater Collection Technician Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment equipment and machinery.
