Mechanic I/II/III - Industrial (Streets)
About The Position
Performs mechanical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of stormwater equipment and machinery. Determines the nature of malfunctions and suggests how to repair them or if equipment should be returned to the shop for a major overhaul. Decides when the shafts need to be lubricated, when additional oil for the engine is needed, when plugs and points need work, etc. Work is performed under the supervision of the Mechanic Supervisor or Manager. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion for accuracy. This position will help service five (5) Alum Stations & Ten (10) Pump Station throughout the City.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Must own a standard set of mechanic tools (list attached)
- Must have a home phone or cell phone
- Mechanic Industrial I: one (1) year of industrial mechanical experience
- Mechanic Industrial II: three (3) years of industrial mechanical experience
- Mechanic Industrial III: four (4) years of industrial mechanical experience
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
