About The Position

The Mechanic Helper position will be tasked with de-icing snowcats and snowmobiles, keeping the shop clean, and assisting the mechanics. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Requirements

  • Adhere to all safety policies
  • Expected to work in inclement weather conditions
  • Must have steel toed shoes
  • 2 years of previous work history/education required
  • Communicate clearly in English, both verbal / non-verbal, and written
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company’s Service Excellence standards
  • Must be a minimum 18 years of age
  • Must use a power washer for long period of times (with power washer pressure between 2500-3500 PSI)
  • Must stand for long periods of time
  • Must bend over for long periods of time
  • Must work under and on equipment on uneven surfaces
  • Must have excellent verbal and written skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet insurability standards

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for de-icing snowcats and snowmobiles for daily maintenance
  • Assisting mechanics with special and on-going projects
  • Moving equipment in and out of maintenance shop
  • Responsible for keeping the maintenance shop neat and clean
  • Responsible for assisting mechanic’s on servicing ATV’s, shuttle buses, snowmobiles, light vehicles and grooming equipment
  • Shift changes as necessary and may work either evening or day shift as required by management
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
