About The Position

Assists mechanics by performing the primary function of sewing equipment maintenance, such as lubricating equipment, installing needle protectors, and performing other assigned tasks. This role involves preventive maintenance, record keeping, and the installation of safety equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Good hand and finger coordination.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, vacuum cleaners, wrenches, and brushes.
• Good vision to observe proper levels of oil and small screws.
• Ability to reach all areas of the sewing machine on the production floor.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 20 lbs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in industrial equipment or sewing equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, including changing oil, blowing motors, adjusting machines, cleaning machines, and checking times.
• Record equipment preventive maintenance by keeping logs of performed maintenance.
• Install safety equipment, such as needle protectors and guards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
