About The Position

The Olympic Club, a private member athletic and country club in San Francisco, seeks a full-time Mechanic (Golf Course Equipment). The Mechanic will work in our Golf Maintenance Department, who maintain our world-renowned golf courses. This is a Local 1877 union position.

Requirements

• 3-5 years mechanic experience on gasoline, diesel, and electric powered equipment, using standard mechanical repair tools
• Ability to lift and move objects that weigh up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and write in the English language.
• Must be self-motivated and able to complete tasks without direct supervision.
• Ability to read and analyze schematics, service manuals and other documents.
• Must interact positively with coworkers, management and others on the Olympic Club team.
• Ability to critically think and make independent decisions based upon sound judgment.
• Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Must be committed to learning and the continual process of improvement.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where excellent results are expected.
• Attention to detail, accuracy of the task completed, and timeliness are a must.

Nice To Haves

• Prior mechanical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects or failures on various pieces of golf course equipment.
• Repair and adjust cutting units on light and heavy-duty mowers.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Ensure equipment is safe for daily use.
• Comply with OSHA safety standards and practices.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager or other management of The Club.
