About The Position

This position is for a "B" Mechanic on the Third Shift, working Monday through Friday from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The role involves maintaining and repairing machinery and systems throughout the plant. Ken's Foods manufactures Ken's Salad dressing and Sweet Baby Ray’s barbeque sauce, handling the entire process from recipe creation to shipping under one roof. The starting pay for this position is $30.00 per hour plus a $1.00 shift differential, with weekly pay. Requirements

  • 2-3 years in a Maintenance role.
  • Experience in automated packaging machines and conveyors.
  • Experience with gear systems, sensors, and electrical systems.
  • Experience with rebuilding pumps.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Access all areas of the plant and grounds to accomplish assigned duties.
  • Actively pursue and correct problems with components and systems throughout the facility.
  • Troubleshoot and repair automated packaging machinery.
  • Perform intermediate knowledge of pump theory, operation, and repair.
  • Perform intermediate knowledge of pneumatic principles, application troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Perform intermediate knowledge of hydraulic principles, application troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Read basic electrical schematics.
  • Work safely with both low and high voltage circuits.
  • Diagnose minor electric motor, motor control, and device control problems.
  • Weld (gas and arc) and solder.
  • Perform basic plumbing and carpentry.
  • Identify and order parts and materials from manufacturers manuals and prints.
  • Communicate both oral and written instructions.
  • Complete the Standard Timing Model mechanical test with a score of 40% or better.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety, food safety culture, quality, and facility cleanliness.
  • Produce product free of contamination.
  • Follow all Ken’s Foods Security and GMP policies.
  • Report any suspicious activities anywhere in or around the plant.
  • Inspect work area for any possible product contamination issues on a continuous basis.
