We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. This position is designed for someone looking to gain mechanical knowledge and training while performing tasks hands on.

Requirements

  • Certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g., associates may be required to communicate with English-speaking customers or co-workers; equipment manuals may be in English).

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical, tools, and small engine knowledge a plus but not a requirement.
  • Mechanic's Certificate from Gas and Diesel Engine Training Seminar

Responsibilities

  • Performs major and mechanical repairs on a variety of gasoline and diesel power equipment; keeps all equipment in efficient and operable condition at all times.
  • Organizes and maintains a clean and safe maintenance area; performs related tasks as required.
  • Works on equipment setup and service.
  • Maintains a preventative maintenance program on all equipment, purchases repair parts and replacement supplies.
  • Reviews expenses and purchases with department manager for approval.
  • Places orders for parts/supplies as needed for equipment or service and tracks expenses and inventories for budget purposes.
  • Inspects, adjusts, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical defects in many types of golf course maintenance equipment.
  • Performs mower grinding/sharpening; performs a general overhaul of motors and reels; installs and adjusts braking systems.
  • Performs machining or welding work in making fittings used in the repair of maintenance equipment.
  • Maintains records of preventative maintenance, repairs made, and parts ordered.
  • Maintains up-to-date working knowledge of light and heavy construction and maintenance equipment and automotive apparatus; skilled in the use of a wide variety of equipment repair tools and in the making of various types of mechanical repairs.
  • Diagnoses mechanical troubles and schedules appropriate preventative maintenance work.
  • Helps to control costs and expenses in the maintenance of the equipment fleet relating to parts purchases, inventory levels, service work, fuel inventories, and related items.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
