About The Position
Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials, with operations across the U.S. and Canada. This role involves performing hands-on maintenance and repairs on mobile and fixed plant equipment under guidance. The apprentice will assist with diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance, and maintaining accurate records. The position operates in an environment with moving mechanical equipment, varying weather conditions, and elevated noise levels. This is a unionized position, with terms governed by a collective agreement.
Requirements
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn and apply technical skills
- Strong commitment to working safely and following established procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative team-focused approach
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and skill development
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination and background check
