About The Position

Adams is seeking a Meat Wrapper I to join their team. This role is responsible for carefully wrapping and labeling meat products to ensure freshness and accuracy, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace to support both quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will provide friendly service, ensuring each customer experience reflects Adams' commitment to quality products. This position requires a willingness to help all customers professionally and welcomingly, knowledge of meat products and offers, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team. The role also involves demonstrating enthusiasm and positivity about Adams' products and values, and setting an example for the company's culture.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Consistently move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 60 pounds
  • Work in cold temperatures for most of your shift
  • Safely use and operate all wrappers, scales and any other equipment necessary to fulfill the mat wrapper position
  • Work in a steady pace environment, especially during holidays and busy times during the day
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for duration of shift
  • Occasionally ascend/descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers for duration of shift
  • Communicate with others to exchange information
  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks including in tight and confined spaces
  • Willingness to help all customers in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Knowledge on all Meat products and offers on the sales floor
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and communicate with a team of co-workers and managers
  • Exhibit enthusiasm, positivity and/or knowledge about Adams’ products and quality

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that customers receive the best customer service by providing friendly, polite, and knowledgeable service; greet customers personally and thank them appreciatively for shopping at Adams.
  • Accurately wrap and label meat for cases, making sure to include sell-by date, weight, unit price, and PLU.
  • Rotate and stock meat cases so each package is correctly labeled, there are no empty spaces, and a variety of products are available; rotate products so the nearest sell-by date is in front and on top.
  • Keep packages in the case pulled forward, lined up, and neat, with no empty spaces (blocking) and level the case so it always appears full (dummying).
  • Alert meat cutters when an item is running low in the case or when the last tray of a featured item is being put out; maintain awareness of backed-up items to prioritize filling the case.
  • Be the final line for quality control by checking for packaging issues, sell-by dates, and ensuring quality and presentation of all products put into the case.
  • Clean meat cases, including wiping shelves and keeping glass clean at all times; clean and sanitize equipment and department as necessary during shift and at closing.
  • Take customer orders both in person and on the phone, completing orders 1 day prior to pick up; when a customer needs assistance, give them priority over the task at hand.
