This position ensures the highest level of service to both internal and external customers. The Meat Journeyperson is responsible for making all standard and required cuts on various types of meat and seafood, including beef, veal, lamb, pork, poultry, and seafood. The role involves working in a fast-paced retail environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts and cold conditions. The position requires working during busy retail times, including weekends, afternoons, and evenings. Key responsibilities include providing excellent customer service, managing department operations, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation, receiving and stocking orders, upholding safety guidelines, and participating in inventory and department resets. Additionally, the role involves personnel management, such as delegating duties, motivating staff, covering shifts, and assisting in training.
