About The Position

New Horizon Co-op is hiring a Part-Time Meat Cutter at our Food Store in Valleyview, Alberta. Co-op does business differently. As a co-operative, we believe in working together to serve Western Canadians, delivering profits back to our communities and investing in sustainable growth.

Requirements

• Enthusiastic approach to work with strong leadership skills
• Availability to work on a very flexible schedule (Morning and evening shifts on weekdays and weekends)
• Practical working knowledge of daily retail operations
• Able to work independently and in a team
• Can handle cool temperatures, and heavy lifting may be required, up to 50lbs
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Previous Meat Cutting experience is required

Nice To Haves

• previous retail experience is an asset

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, debone and prepare standard cuts of meat according to specifications
• Wrap, label and package prepared meats
• Respond to all customer inquiries regarding different cuts, serving sizes and other product related questions in a courteous and well-informed manner
• Ensure all equipment is clean, well maintained and fully operational
• Perform duties in compliance with established health and safety regulations
• Assist other departments as needed, including unloading freight and stocking shelves
• Other duties, as assigned
