About The Position

Rosauers Supermarkets is hiring a Meat Cutter Apprentice to join its team. The role includes participating in a seven-module Apprentice Meat Cutter Training Program and preparing meat and other products for sale. The apprentice also provides customer service, maintains tools and equipment, supports attractive and accurate displays, and follows food safety and sanitation controls.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Complete a pre-employment background check.
• Must have a Food Workers Card.
• Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule, extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed.
• Ability to use hand tools, stand or walk for extended periods, lift heavy items, and work in cold environments.

• Knife-cutting skills or interest in learning them.
• Interest or ability in working with power tools.
• Detail-oriented, hardworking, and comfortable interacting with people.

Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in the seven-module Apprentice Meat Cutter Training Program.
• Greet and speak with customers, answer questions, help locate items, and provide recommendations.
• Cut, trim, prepare, and package meats for sale.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
• Ensure displays and signage are accurate and attractive.
• Weigh, package, label, price, and display products.
• Perform quality inspections on meats and other products.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation controls.
• Unload deliveries or order pickups.
• Cooperate with others to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Perform other duties to ensure the overall success of the company.
