About The Position
The Meat Clerk at the New Castle Farmers Market supports daily stand operations in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role is responsible for preparing, packaging, stocking, and presenting fresh meat products while maintaining Stoltzfus Meats' standards for quality, cleanliness, and food safety.
Requirements
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependable and team-oriented
- Willingness to learn basic meat department skills
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience preferred
- Grocery, food service, or meat department experience helpful but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service
- Package, weigh, label, and stock fresh meat products
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked display cases
- Rotate inventory using FIFO practices
- Monitor product quality and freshness
- Assist with basic meat preparation tasks as trained
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
- Clean equipment, prep areas, counters, scales and other surfaces
- Assist with receiving and stocking deliveries
- Support meat cutters and department leadership as needed
