The Meat Clerk is responsible to ensure that customer service is provided while maintaining a safe and efficient Meat Department while adhering to Company policies, procedures and standards.

Requirements

Grade 9 or acceptable combination of education and experience
Related retail experience, including the provision of customer service
Must be fluent in English
Knowledge of meat products / experience

Responsibilities

Provides customer service and maintains positive customer relations through the proper handling of customer questions, comments, requests and complaints.
Effectively works in a diverse team environment in a proficient and friendly manner.
Performs all aspects of Meat function including but not limited to, stocking, proper storage of product, displays and facing in an efficient and organized manner.
Ensures display presentation and stock levels are maintained.
Handles merchandise ensuring quality, minimizing damages, markdowns and ensure price integrity including price changes.
Performs general clean up duties such as cleaning spills and display fixtures to ensure a neat and organized department is maintained.
Responsible for ensuring the sales floor and back stock area are clean of cardboard and debris, including disposal of garbage.
Performs duties following established Occupational Health and Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental regulations and policies to ensure the health and safety of all staff and customers.
Ensures the proper care, use and maintenance of equipment and tools and reports repair requirements to the Meat Supervisor, Meat or Duty Manager.
While working product verify invoices and report any discrepancies to the Supervisor.
Assists in organizing and conducting inventory.
Operation of the grinder is not permitted.
