About The Position

Cardenas Markets is seeking a retail store Meat Clerk. The role is responsible for washing, inspecting, and rotating meat products; keeping displays stocked with new merchandise; and ensuring product expiration dates are current. The Meat Clerk works as part of a team, provides customer service, and helps customers make product-related decisions. The role also involves handling meat, seafood, and poultry inventory and orders, maintaining department displays, and following sanitation and health guidelines.

Requirements

• Valid Food Handlers Card.
• Friendly and people oriented.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior food preparer experience at a grocery store.

Responsibilities

• Work professionally as part of the team and provide excellent customer service.
• Verify prices, hang current sales signs, and remove out-of-date sales signs.
• Order and inventory required meats, seafood, and poultry.
• Provide customers with product information to help them make product-related decisions.
• Ensure the department and meat displays have a neat appearance.
• Comply with sanitation and health guidelines.
• Wash, inspect, and rotate meat products; keep displays stocked and ensure expiration dates are up to date.
