About The Position

Evergreen Co-op is looking for a Meat Clerk to join their team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, ensuring proper meat preparation and presentation, and maintaining department standards. The Meat Clerk will be responsible for tasks such as traying, wrapping, pricing, and merchandising various meat cases. They will also assist in preparing in-store products and adhering to all safety and food safety policies. The position requires the ability to work in cool and damp environments and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted. Requirements

• Self motivated, reliable, responsible, friendly and hard working
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Sense of urgency, and customer first attitude
• Physically capable of performing dynamic and static movements, repetitive motions, and repeated lifting of up to 50Ibs unassisted
• Ability to work in cool and damp environments
• Must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada (for example, by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or work permit.

Responsibilities

• Providing outstanding customer service
• Ensuring proper meat preparation is achieved and maintained
• Performing duties such as traying, wrapping, and pricing to Meat Department standards
• Filling and merchandising the fresh case, frozen case, smoked case and all spot islands are to department standards
• Receiving, inspecting and storing merchandise when assigned
• Assisting in preparing instore made products such as sausage, hamburger patties, etc.
• Adhering to all Evergreen Co-op safety policies and procedures
• Adhering to all food safety policies and practices
• Performing any other duties as assigned
