About The Position

This job requires an individual to perform essential duties with accuracy and maintain a high level of productivity. The role focuses on customer relations, departmental morale, and inter-departmental cooperation. The Meat Clerk will assist in maintaining product freshness, proper merchandising, and competitive awareness. Responsibilities include managing product dating, rewrapping, and labeling, as well as staying informed about sale prices and product locations to assist guests.

Requirements

Ability to write, speak, hear, and understand the spoken word to respond promptly to pages, requests, team members and guests.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.
Basic computer skills preferred.
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or related job experience and/or training are preferred.
No experience required.
18 years of age.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form or when helping resolve a team member or guest concern.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs. or more.

Responsibilities

Exhibit and develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.
Promote a high level of morale within department and store, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication.
Maintain good working relationships with other department managers with the objective of improving sales storewide.
At all times remember that our success will be dependent upon our ability to work together.
Comply with all company policies, programs and directives as specified in the Code of Conduct.
Assists in maintaining proper freshness, code dating, tares, and merchandising of the products in compliance with governmental guidelines and company policies and procedures.
Capable of recognizing the quality of all service and self-service meats from their appearance and distinguishing between types and cuts of meat.
Assists in proper department pricing, rotating and merchandising to meet company policies, procedures and objectives.
Maintains an awareness of competitive activity within the store marketing area.
Pulls outdated, rewraps or applies new labels as necessary.
Stays aware of current sale prices and location of products.
Answers guest inquiries in a prompt and friendly manner.
