Requirements

  • Must live within 30 miles of the facility
  • Natural gas measurement experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the operating principles of all types of orifice meters, ultrasonic meters, rotary meters, positive meters, turbine meters, relief valves and regulation and other measurement related equipment.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of gas flow.
  • Advanced computer skills and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and must be able to develop, follow and prioritize a schedule with very limited supervision.
  • Must be able to multitask and meet deadlines on all compliance and other scheduled activities.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lb. items a minimum of 50 feet in order to transport testing equipment and material from vehicle to company facility metering sites.
  • Ability to work in extreme ambient temperature situations to operate, test and repair facilities as required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Must have a strong commitment to personal and team safety.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Pipeline and compressor station experience is preferred.
  • Familiar with utilizing computerized compliance tracking systems, GIS, Oracle, O&M Manual and other computer-based software.
  • Experience working with natural gas pipelines and compressor facilities as well as familiar with DOT 192 Regulations.
  • College or technical school degree
  • 4 (plus) years of gas measurement or operations and maintenance experience
  • Chromatograph O&M proficiency
  • Control valve and OPP O&M experience
  • Associate’s Degree or Certificate of Completion in Electrical or Electronics Technology from an Institution accreted by one of the National Regional Accrediting Bodies
  • Two-year applicable Associate’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain assigned area measurement and control facilities.
  • Schedule and perform all work related to the daily operation and maintenance of assigned measurement and control facilities including: Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) Systems and other electrical components; orifice, positive displacement, turbine, rotary and ultrasonic measurement, control valves, actuators, controllers, positioners, relief valves, regulators, remote set points, chromatographs, sampling systems, gas quality analysis, communication devices, computers, AC and DC circuitry.
  • Testing, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of measurement and control devices.
  • Work from engineering drawings, sketches, and diagrams.
  • Work with Gas Control, Measurement Support Services and customers to maintain accurate gas flow.
  • Maintain spare parts, equipment, and other maintenance inventory.
  • Perform flow calculations.
  • Work with customers, property owners, contractors, BWP Engineers, area staff, and Measurement Services for meter station plans.
  • Works closely with the Measurement Analysis group on daily, weekly, and monthly system balancing issues.
  • Travel to other measurement areas to perform job duties in the absence or to assist other Specialists.
  • Operate, calibrate and maintain all equipment within DOT and company requirements.
  • Assist some of the other field operational groups with normal Operations & Maintenance activities and also in emergency type situations.
