Meal Delivery Driver -Flex Position
About The Position
Responsible for delivering home-delivered meals to clients throughout the community. This includes transporting meals to assigned recipients, completing route lists and daily reports, and properly caring for, cleaning, and returning equipment. The role also involves counting and turning in contributions, assisting in the kitchen with packaging food items, and using an electronic thermometer to record meal temperatures. Maintaining cleanliness of agency vehicles, delivery bags, and other equipment is essential. The driver must understand and communicate the mission of the Licking County Aging Program's Meals on Wheels program and abide by established guidelines. Other duties may be assigned as required.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Must be able to use an iPad and be able to follow direction
- Must have empathy for and understanding of the needs of the elderly, impoverished and developmentally disabled
- Must be in good physical health, good personal hygiene and able to lift up to 50 pounds
- May require standing for more than one hour, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, reaching above your head, good range of motion in neck, good manual dexterity and coordination, stair climbing, and climbing in and out of a vehicle
- Exposure to adverse climatic conditions both inside homes and in the outdoor environment is probable
- Must attend all trainings as scheduled
- Must follow state and local health department guidelines which apply to the job
- Dependable transportation for meal delivery required
- Personal vehicle must be kept clean since being used for food delivery
- Must be at least 21 years of age for liability insurance purposes if driving a company vehicle
- Two years driving experience required
- No major convictions in last five years
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License is required
- Must be able to provide proof of at least the minimum auto insurance coverage for Ohio upon request
