About The Position

The Washtenaw Child Advocacy Center, through Catholic Charities Washtenaw, is seeking an experienced part-time Case Coordinator (approximately 22.50 hours per week) to coordinate critical support for child victims and their non-offending caregivers. The role focuses on reducing trauma for child victims by facilitating access to essential services such as law enforcement, children’s protective services, medical providers, and prosecutors. A key responsibility includes managing the complex forensic interview scheduling process for suspected child sexual assault victims. The Case Coordinator will also assist the Crisis Counselor with referrals for mental health treatment and other services, and provide crisis counseling to victim families. This position involves collaborative work with a multi-disciplinary team of community partners, including law enforcement, child protective services, and the county prosecutor’s office. Additionally, the role includes case tracking, maintaining statistical data, and serving as a backup for the Crisis Counselor when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, criminal justice or a related field.
  • 5 years’ experience in child abuse, crisis intervention, child development, and/or criminal justice system.
  • Ability to relate to children and adults of all ages, race, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
