About The Position
The MDS Coordinator RN works onsite at the facility in Eugene, Oregon, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to assess residents’ needs. The position is paid at $50 per hour plus DOE for an RN and is described as salaried. The role coordinates resident assessments and MDS processes in accordance with state and federal regulations. New nurses can participate in a three-month Long Term Care New Nurse Residency, which includes the Geri-Res residency curriculum and structured onsite mentorship.
Requirements
- Hold a current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Be well-versed in interpersonal communications.
- Be familiar with the RAI process and case management.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the pre-admission process to ensure essential information needed for MDS optimization is obtained from referral sources.
- Assist in reviewing resident care and setting the ARD to ensure the most appropriate ARD is used for Prospective Payment System MDS assessments.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of resident assessments according to state and federal regulations.
- Code the MDS accurately using information from interviews with facility staff, residents, and family members, as well as resident observation and medical record review.
- Maintain MDS schedules.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or needed.
