About The Position

The Senior MCC SCTCT Infusion Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to patients at the Mays Cancer Center. Provide nursing care to immunocompromised patients with complex needs, including hematology stem cell transplant and cellular therapy patients across the adult and geriatric spectrum in the outpatient setting. Demonstrate competency across the continuum of malignant hematology and stem cell transplantation. Deliver high-quality care across all domains of practice when caring for patients receiving cellular therapies. Develop and implement an individualized plan for utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Ensures enhanced patient outcomes through effective communication, collaboration, mentorship, and effective delegation in the exercise of his/her independent judgment. May lead or mentor lower level team members. Assesses the unit's needs related to practice and improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in oncology nursing.
  • Experience with stem cell transplant or cellular therapy patients.
  • Proficiency in the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and delegation skills.
  • Ability to lead or mentor junior team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification.
  • Experience in an outpatient infusion setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
