About The Position

SMX is seeking a Journeyman MBSE Systems Engineer for the Model-Based Systems Engineering Division to provide support at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. This role involves applying engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapons systems. The engineer will review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. They will apply systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management. Additionally, the role requires analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, testing, or evaluating software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems, or management information systems.

Requirements

  • Clearance Required: Secret (minimum), TS/SCI desired
  • US Citizenship is required for work on DoW contract
  • Must have a Technical BS or BA degree.
  • Minimum of two (2) years recent and relevant Systems Engineering experience with Model-Based Engineering applications and technology.
  • Experience using MBSE Tools, such as Cameo System Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architect, Teamwork Cloud, and Cameo Collaborator.
  • Familiarity with interface definition practices and verification fundamentals
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, review-driven environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with MBSE practices.
  • Expertise in building and assessing systems engineering and architecture models using modeling methodologies to conduct technical assessments and recommendations that inform key technical decisions.
  • Experience with systems engineering analyses and using the results with other engineering models to draw conclusions and optimize performance, schedule, timing, costs, etc.
  • Experience with how system requirements, design, analysis, verification and validation activities are enabled by MBSE across the digital thread (the engineering lifecycle).
  • Requires experience with systems engineering and of model-based methodologies.
  • Experience with the use of modeling languages and frameworks such as UML, SysML, and UAF.
