About The Position

The Mattox / Annex studio tech responsibilities are as follows; While working ensuring safe practices are being followed by all users Perform shop maintenance tasks such as emptying sawdust bins, cleaning sinks, vacuuming shops, sweeping, refilling paper towel dispensers and other tasks as needed, painting, assisting with studio turn overs. Assisting Lab manager with equipment maintenance. Other shop related tasks as assigned by lab manager

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM
  • Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count)
  • If Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress

Nice To Haves

  • Available to work weekends
  • Work study approved
  • Are a current or past sculpture, ceramics, print making, A&E Grad student
  • Have experience working in a metal, wood, ceramics, print making or fabrication shops
  • Possess a strong understanding of safe practices working in multiple studio types and with divers equipment
